I didn’t receive an order confirmation email. How do I get one? Top
Some email systems block the automated email that is sent when you register for your ExcelCEO hands-on training course. While we are unable to control your email filters, we are glad to re-send your order confirmation email manually, when requested, and those usually make it to your Inbox.

How long does it take to complete an ExcelCEO course?? Top
All Excel and Access and SQL complete self–study courses are NASBA CPE/QAS certified for up to 40 hours of CPE credit (make sure you know your specific training requirements about the type and amount of CPE credits needed). CPE credits are available by chapter, so you can start claiming them as you pass each chapter exam! Plan for each chapter to take roughly as long as the number of CPE credits for which it qualifies. Specific time may vary depending on reading speed for step-by-step instructions, prior experience with the topics covered, chapter exam attempts, etc. Some students like to review the material several times before moving on, which also could affect total time. The Excel course capstone is Chapter 18 — The Comprehensive Project. This one does not qualify for CPE credits, but is necessary to pass to receive the ExcelCEO Master certification.

Can you explain more about the Comprehensive Project? Top
The Comprehensive Project is like a final exam for the entire course and qualifies for the ExcelCEO Excel Master certification (with a digital and a printed certificate available along with search-ability in the ExcelCEO Graduate Verification link.
The Comprehensive Project is a chance to test your understanding of the many skills covered in Chapters 1-17 along with your creativity in using them with a real-world budgeting example. No new skills are taught in this chapter and you can use a variety of skills to complete several of the objectives. There is no time limit to complete this chapter for as long as you are registered for the course. Expect between 3-10 hours to complete the Comprehensive Project, but times vary depending on the student and their understanding of the training. ExcelCEO Access and SQL courses do not have a Comprehensive Project.

|
How long do I have access to the training after I register for it? Top
ExcelCEO provides you with lifetime access to the training for which you are registered, so you can use the training for reference even after you complete it with up-to-date PDF course manual and pre-configured practice files downloads along with the tutorial videos linked to your selected course (Excel courses only).
If you are training for CPE credit through NASBA, their self-study policy deadline for claiming CPE credit is one year from the date of purchase. After that one year, you would still have access to the training for which you are then registered and discounted options are available, if you have unfinished chapters you want to claim for CPE credit.
|
|
Where are the videos for my selected course? Top
If you are registered for ExcelCEO Excel hands-on training, you can find the tutorial video links for your selected course in the Videos section at the bottom your ExcelCEO training account Main Menu. There is one tutorial video link for each CPE credit chapter available and videos tie specifically to ExcelCEO Excel 2016 and Excel 2013 courses. There is also a Getting Started video available, if you are just beginning your training. Watching the videos as you train is optional but, whether you use the videos or the course manual to train, you still need to complete the hands-on projects for each chapter to be ready for the chapter exams.
Links to these videos stay available even after you complete your testing environment checkpoints.
|
|
Can I take my training on more than one computer? Top
You can train on as many computers as needed as long as you have access to the your training materials. As long as you are the only person using your ExcelCEO training account and contents (access to your ExcelCEO training account, course materials downloads, and/or any video links are not to be shared with anyone), ExcelCEO does not control how, when, or where you train. Just make sure you can refer to your hands-on projects when you take the chapter exams as some of the questions will refer to them.

Where is my receipt/invoice for purchasing the course? Top
After you log in to your ExcelCEO student profile with your Email and Password, you will see an Invoices link on the Main Menu in your ExcelCEO training account. Click on that Invoices link to view a copy of your receipt. You can print this, take a screen shot, or otherwise use for your records, submit it for company reimbursement, where applicable, etc. All relevant details you have provided are included. If you need a more comprehensive invoice, contact us at Customer.Service@ExcelCEO.com and a custom invoice can be created for you.

|
What should I do if it looks like my registration did not go through? Top
Before re-submitting your registration, it may help to check your card statement to make sure of your order status. You can also email us at Customer.Service@ExcelCEO.com for the status of your registration, in case the order confirmation page timed out (while rare, it can happen). There are several possible reasons why your credit card was not accepted. The most common reason is that the purchase card billing information submitted did not match the card information on file. If you used a corporate card, check that the billing address used is correct.
For personal cards, if you recently moved, make sure your billing address for the card matches the address you are using. If you have not registered for ExcelCEO training before, some purchase card-issuing companies place holds on your order and you can verify with them. Another possibility we see is when there was not enough available credit on the card at the time of registration.

How long does it take for me to receive the printed course manual I ordered? Top
After you complete an order online that includes the optional printed course manual, it takes about 5-7 business days for you to receive your printed manual, if you ordered one. This depends on your distance from Houston. Extreme weather conditions or holiday delays occasionally apply.
Each ExcelCEO course comes with a PDF version of the course manual included. To get a printed copy of the course manual, you can print one copy for yourself, or order a printed version from us. Note that there is an extra charge for that printed manual. You can order the printed manual online just like you did the course. Please note that the printed course manual is not included with the complete self-study course registration unless you specifically add it to your order. We are happy to provide you with order/shipping status, if you ordered one.
In the meantime, you can login to your student profile using the Email and Password provided in your Order Confirmation, download the practice files you will use for your selected course, as well as the PDF version of the course manual that you can use while you anticipate your printed course manual delivery.

A PDF Course Manual is Included. Do I Need a Printed Course Manual? Top
Whether or not you need a printed course manual depends on your learning style and preferences. Each course registration includes a PDF version of the course manual and it is fully searchable, indexed, and kept updated through the Downloads section of your ExcelCEO training account. Many students choose this format for cost, convenience, and for the ability to search for specific topics or examples as they study.
Reasons to consider purchasing a printed course manual include:
Ability to read the course material without computer access, or to preserve device battery life
Having only a single device monitor can make switching between programs less convenient
Being able to highlight and dog-ear pages of importance to you for future reference
The PDF course manual is still available for use while you wait for your printed manual to be delivered, if purchased.

I have a MacBook/Apple computer? Do you have a version of the course for I can use? Top
We do not have an Excel for Mac version of ExcelCEO training yet, but ExcelCEO Excel 2016 and 365 have worked for many Mac users until our dedicated course is ready for release. You can start with the free Chapter 1 - Excel Basics course to see how well you follow it before registering for the full course, if wanted. If you do register for the complete self-study course, please email to request a link to the Mac-friendly practice files download. For best results, use the version of training that matches the name of the Excel program version you have available to you.

Why are the Review Questions not found in the course manual? Top
Think of Review Questions (checkpoints) as a review of the Excel program rather than a review of what you just finished covering. There is a lot more to Excel than the hands-on projects and the goal is to help you become a true Excel master and not only a master of the ExcelCEO training (which is still valuable). For best results, treat every review or chapter exam question as hands-on for firsthand learning. There was a CPE accreditation aspect of this too:
“When I was initially creating the review and test questions for the exams, all of the questions referred to material in the chapters. When I submitted it to NASBA for approval, they rejected a lot of those questions. They said that the course taker should not be able to look up the answers to the questions in the book. That just proves that they can look up answers in a book. They told me to write questions that prove ExcelCEO students understand the material, and that they know how to find the answers by using Excel®, even if the questions had nothing to do with the material presented that chapter.
Knowing how to get the answer is much better than just giving the answer in a book. I have created questions that test a person’s knowledge on how to research issues and answers to questions by using Excel and Access. Every Excel course exam question is provable through the same hands-on approach used in the chapter projects. No ‘Gotcha’ questions are written into ExcelCEO training.”

How do I know if I ordered the optional printed manual? Top
The optional printed manual is not included in the complete self-study course registration and must be specifically purchased (cost extra). A copy of your purchase invoice is available to you at all times through the Invoices section of your ExcelCEO training account Main Menu to be sure. Most people who purchase the Excel course prefer to work from the fully search-able, indexed, and updated PDF copy of the manual instead of purchasing a printed copy. Reasons vary. Each complete self-study course comes with a PDF version of the manual, so you will still have the instructions available for your selected course. To be sure which category you fall into, check the Invoices section of your ExcelCEO profile. If you see a charge confirming you purchased a printed course manual, contact Customer.Service@ExcelCEO.com, and we will track your order.
If your find you did not order a printed course manual originally, you can still purchase a copy, if you wish, at ExcelCEO.com and ordering just the printed course manual that accompanies your course. You can still use the PDF version of the course manual available in the Downloads section of your ExcelCEO training account either way.
Another screen space-saving option is to download or transfer a copy of your available PDF course manual to a tablet or phone with a PDF reader installed. Standard data rates would apply.

Are ExcelCEO courses webinars or self-study? Top
ExcelCEO hands-on training courses are on-demand and self-study, so you can learn on your own schedule with no scheduled classes to attend. Once you download your PDF course manual and pre-configured practice files, you can mostly train without an internet connection too!
Tutorial videos are available for the Excel courses, with specific videos tied to the Excel 2016 and Excel 2013 courses, if you are a visual learner. The included PDF course manual contains easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions with a conversational format that does not read like a technical guide. Hundreds of screen shots available throughout each course manual. If you are training for CPE credit, NASBA self-study policy is that you must finish the chapter(s) within one (1) year from your date of purchase to redeem the credits.
|
|
Do you have any other courses besides Excel and Access? Top
Available ExcelCEO hands-on training is currently limited to Excel and Access courses with a focus on finance and accounting skills. A few other all-new courses are in development with a focus on advanced Excel users, including Power Query and report automation, so check back on those! If you have specific topics of interest, please let us know and you may see that as a future course offering.

Are ExcelCEO courses NASBA-approved for CPE credit? Top
ExcelCEO complete self-study courses are NASBA certified for CPE credit under the CPE/QAS certification under the ClineSys name. The ExcelCEO Texas Sponsor ID Number is 009841. When searching the NASBA National Registry for your state under self-study, our National Registry ID is 109193. Your state board may have additional guidelines or restrictions for self-study CPE credit, so make sure self-study courses meet your needs, and to what extent. ExcelCEO hands-on training is typically classified as technical or computer science training.
When searching for our courses at nasbaregistry.org for your specific state, you can find them using search criteria self-study, accounting, and CPE.

|
Do I have to complete the entire course to claim CPE credits? Top
You can begin earning/claiming CPE credit certificates as soon as you complete Chapter 1! ExcelCEO courses are structured to award CPE credits per chapter as you successfully pass the chapter exams. Per NASBA rules, you must achieve a minimum of a 70% chapter exam score, and have up to three attempts to pass each chapter exam to qualify for CPE credit. If you plan to use ExcelCEO course training for CPE credit across reporting periods, just make sure you complete the chapters during those reporting periods and within your one year from the date of purchase, according to NASBA policy, because CPE credit certificates include the date the chapter exam was passed.
Any CPE credit certificates you earn would be located in the Certificates link in your ExcelCEO student profile below the heading of Main Menu Links. Just complete the short survey for each certificate, and then you can print the certificates out to submit to your reporting board.
